The 2022-2023 snowmobile season is now over!
PRESS RELEASE
The 2022-2023 snowmobile season is now over!
Terrebonne, April 20th, 2023 – The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) wishes to inform you that the 2022-2023 snowmobile season is now over. Despite the delay to the start of the season due to the weather conditions in December, snowmobilers were still able to enjoy the season as it extended until mid-April in some locations in Quebec.
The FCMQ, including all its clubs and volunteers, are currently working on the deployment of the next season in order to continue to offer you 33,000 km of trails across the province. The trail permit purchase platform is currently closed until the launch of the 2023-2024 permits. However, it remains open to allow you to access your profile or to consult your trail permit purchases from previous seasons.
Throughout the summer season, the 2022-2023 interactive map remains open for consultation. However, please note that the trail routings will be updated in the fall of 2023. The FCMQ would like to remind you that access to the snowmobile trails is not permitted during the summer period, notably because of the expiry of the land-use permission agreements with landowners and various ministries.
Being a volunteer means devoting more than 800,000 hours annually ...
Despite the end of the snowmobile season, the volunteer work does not stop there... During the summer season, the volunteers continue to be involved in the improvement of certain sections of trails, infrastructures, in the negotiation of land-use permissions and the validation of routes. We thank them and underline their crucial contribution to the activity. With more than 800,000 hours devoted with passion to the activity, Quebec is a must for snowmobiling.
It is also important to underline the contribution of landowners, these generous and essential partners, who grant us each year land-use permissions that account for nearly 50% of our trail network.
We would also like to thank all the people and companies involved in snowmobiling, who contribute with their support throughout the year.
