International Snowmobile Safety Week : Take responsibiblity for your safety!

The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) would like to remind you that International Snowmobile Safety Week, presented in collaboration with Intact Insurance, the official insurer of the FCMQ, and Woody's, the world's leading manufacturer of studs and runners, will be held from January 15th to 23rd, 2022. During this week and throughout the winter season, the safety of snowmobilers is our priority. In collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec and the Government of Québec, various actions will be carried out throughout Québec to maintain and increase user safety, and ensure compliance with current legislation.

Participation of the FCMQ in the campaign : Respect - For a sustainable cohabitation

The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec is proud to participate in the Respect - For a sustainable cohabitation awareness campaign. This anti-vagrancy campaign aims to inform and sensitize snowmobilers to adopt better practices and to understand the impact of their actions when they do not stay on the trails.

Canadian Pacific Railway Announces New Guidelines for Traffic on Trails Along the Railway

Terrebonne, August 29th, 2021 – The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec as well as the clubs of the Eastern Townships and the Montérégie have just learned of the unilateral decision of Canadian Pacific to ban snowmobile traffic on the trails along the railroad formerly owned by MMA (CMQ). We have great difficulty in understanding this decision, which was made without consultation and which will have major consequences on the trail network and the regional economy, when, to our knowledge, no accidents have occurred in all the years that our vehicles have used these trails. We are currently evaluating all possible options to convince Canadian Pacific to return to a more reasonable position in order to find solutions that take into account the interests of all.

Release of the coroner's report concerning the death of the five French tourists on January 21, 2020 in Lac Saint-Jean: the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec invites snowmobilers to be careful

Terrebonne, August 28th, 2021 – The Federation acknowledges the coroner's report on the tragic event in Lac-Saint-Jean and intends to discuss it with its member clubs. From the outset, the Federation reiterates that safety remains the highest collective priority of all partners involved in snowmobiling. The Federation intends to pay particular attention to all of the coroner's recommendations and to put in place all appropriate measures to ensure even safer snowmobiling in order to prevent such unfortunate events from happening again.
